NEXDIGITRON PRIME 2K+ GPS Dual DashCam

Camera is good quality

Having read the title, lets jump into HONEST pros/cons.

Pros:

1. Good built quality with proper heat dissipation.

2. Serves purpose with stated 1440p IMX 335 sensor resolution front cam - reads number plates good.
Anything higher resolution (or IMX 2) is marketing Gimmick & anything lower resolution is of less use (lets understand its NOT for DSLR).
Will update later with more details, once analyzing the image frames / comparing.

3. Smartphone App is good without connection issues so far (will update any later after few months).

4. Easy installation at home (depends on car pillars/ windshield).

5. Built in GPS, without external sticky module (new 2024 version).

6. Fast boot & start of recording.

7. Personally wanted to avoid Lithium -Ion / polymer based battery dash cams. So this fits in my category.

8. Less Technical in usage and setup (I am using this for NON-Parking mode as in Drive mode ONLY, using Cigar light point in car, so its easy).

9. No issue with 256GB cards , felt hesitant ordering high capacity memory card but works just fine.

Cons (Lets read as room for improvements):

1. Not sure If its a con but felt front camera is of cooler image & rear is warm color with higher exposure (for obvious reasons).
A little improvement in tuning will be at par with above budget range dash cams out there. Not sure if front cam was setup for cooler configuration to avoid glare during day times in summers. But does the decent job compared to other dash cams. However would have preferred closer to True colors for front dash cam but that's me (personal preference). Felt almost a DDPAI clone of similar range.

2. Rear cam is of less usage **AT DARK TIMES OF DAY** unless less than ~5-8 ft range (without own rear sensor and street light conditions etc). This applies to any dash cam in the range. So its not something particular to this Nexdigitron camera but a FACT for any dash cam buyers. For day time usage it works good with decent readability of plates.

3. Not sure of Novatek processor (if that's the one used) / Sensor config combination can handle higher bit rates (assuming 20 ish-24-30 bps in current setup), but a little higher bit rates would have made super smooth and excellent image quality. Ofc then also consumes more space (but storage is cheaper). So please consider improving on this aspect.

4. Selective memory cards, pro plus 256GB is almost little more than 1/4th the cost of dash cam.
Other Class 10 UHS2 with high bit rate at home didn't work. So had to invest again for new recommended card.

5. Definitely a little more adjustment in play of the front dash cam (the sticky mount) is recommended and IF possible side ways adjustment too. Was difficult for one of my hatchback but worked just fine for other bigger car (ordered couple of Nexdigitron Prime 2ks for three cars). Hitting right FOV starts with good angle of adjustment during setup (avoiding blind spots at same time).

6. Though I did not buy the CPL filter due to its cost :-) , I would have preferred a rotating CPL filter attached to camera,
Remember a good CPL filter cuts the light or reduce exposure by 1 or more point. IF the filter was rotating with neutral point then one could use it for all seasons and times of day. Also protects the lens of camera IF removing camera often at service stations or cleaning purpose. The rotating filters have advanced better (even for smartphones).

To sum up, This is excellent dash cam for those looking within budget and don't break the banks but that doesn't mean compromising on the image quality (This is comparative of other one used in past -without naming any brand here). This is bang for the buck dash cam.
Hits the sweet spot for the price.

I was little hesitant but purchased couple of Prime 2k's and feeling positive after usage about them without any issues on different cars.

Installation was done at home. All looks good. GPS working very well. But in Parking mode, no lights are found to be blinking so unable to understand whether the dash cams are active or not. Description in manual / web site needs to be in more details. Getting better information from VLOGGERS. This should not be the case.

2) GPS
3) back camera
4) under 10K
till date, I am happy, video quality is decent.

Nice, clear and bright captures.
Day captures are very satisfactory. Clear number plate imaging.
Night view needs to have less glare.
Very good GPS. Location and speed accurate.
Installation is easy and the given pry. tool is very useful.
The "GAADICAM" apk connectivity is very smooth. It shows real time videos
The apk needs to be improved. More features such as offline mode, camera controls may be added.
Rating 8.5 out of 10. Deducted 1.5 for upgrading apk, glare at night etc.
Overall value for money.
